The sketch this month features 9 photos. My
sample sticks pretty closely to the sketch, but feel free to change photo
sizes, move some elements around, and use hearts or stars or whatever you like
in place of the snowflakes. Happy scrapping, and, as always, please link below
when you post your completed layout so we can admire your interpretation of the
sketch!

Time for another H2H sketch! This one went through several modifications before I was happy with it, and I still changed a few things on the final layout, so don't hesitate to modify it as needed.
It features six 4" x 6" prints (one with a little bit cut off on the side), and two 3" x 3" prints. The darker paper strips are 3" x 9", and the lighter ones are 3" x 12". The circle is 6.5", and the photos have 1/4" mats. Either side of the sketch would make a fine single page layout; just add a title to the left hand page. You can replace the stars with whatever elements work for your pictures. Don't forget to link your finished page so we can see what you did with the sketch.

Who is ready for another sketch?
This month's single page sketch features one 4" x 6" photo, four smaller photos, and even some white space. I know, I'm still not very good with the white space but I'm working on it! To help you out as you plan your page, here are some paper dimensions: the large piece of B&T is 7" x 10", and it is placed 1/2" from the top and left sides of your base paper. All the smaller strips are 1.5' wide, and the circles are 4.25" and 3". As always, adapt the sketch to meet your needs, have fun, and please share your finished layout with us by posting a link to your artwork!

Valentine's Day is just past, so I thought we should do something with hearts. What better than a really big heart showcasing someone (or something) you love? The heart was cut out on the Cricut using the AP cartridge, Heart 1 at 10 1/2". I used 2" x 3" and 2" x 2" photos with white borders to create some separation between the pictures, but you could use any combination of sizes. Have fun creating, and please link your finished and posted layouts below so we can enjoy them, too!

We had a great response to the last sketch, so who's ready for another one? I recently had a request for more white space on my next sketch. In general, I have a ton of photos to scrap, so I have a hard time "wasting" space on my layouts, but here is my humble attempt to leave some empty space for you! I know, it's not much, but see what you can do with it. Enjoy, and don't forget to show us what you did with the sketch.

This month's sketch is simple, featuring only three photos, but you could always replace the long photo at the bottom with a series of 3" x 3" photos. It also uses some pennants, something I haven't experimented with much yet. I cut the shortest pennant out using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, and then, since you can't cut longer pennants using the cartridge without also having them wider, I used it as a template to cut the longer pennants. The title and snowflakes were also cut out using the AP cartridge. There are so many fun shapes on that cartridge that you could use to fill in the asterisks from the sketch. Have fun creating, and don't forget to post your artwork so everyone can see it!

I know we all have them: the bulk pack of paper that was too good to pass up but has now been sitting in our scraproom for two years. Consultants, what about the B&T Duos that we used for a workshop but we still have 10 sheets left? Now is the time to pull those out and use a big chunk. This sketch features an 11.5" x 6.5" piece of patterned paper along the bottom of each page, plus a 6" x 4.75" piece at the top of each page. Depending on your pictures and the paper you're using, you could use two sides of the same B&T paper to do the top and bottom pieces. I listed the smaller photos on the sketch as 4" x 3", but you could crop them to whatever size suits your pictures.
Have fun creating, and let us see what you come up with!

Cheryl has another awesome layout and sketch to share with everyone - despite just recovering from computer problems! Take a look:
From Cheryl:
"I designed the sketch with the idea in mind that the large photo collages can consist of any size photo combination you choose, all neatly contained within the box except for one break out. For example, I used mostly 4" x 6" and 3" x 4" photos, but you could place a large 8" x 10" on the left hand page and a combo of smaller photos on the right hand page. Have fun creating and let me see what you come up with".
And here's Cheryl's layout sample:
LOVE! Now it's your turn. Grab some photos and use Cheryl's sketch to create something fabulous! If it includes some journaling with a story to tell, be sure to enter it in our challenge that began on Oct. 10th. Have fun!

It's time for a new sketch from Cheryl - here is a little summary in her own words:
"I was thinking about back to school when I designed this sketch, so I made it just the right size for a child's school picture, but you could also use the large photo space for a collage of smaller photos. I also swapped out the small 2"x2" photo for an embellishment. Have fun with the sketch, change it up as you need to, and let me see what you come up with"!
Here is the sketch and sample layout:
So adorable! Now let's see what you create. Just link up below to share. Happy creating!

Sorry for the delay - Here is Cheryl's sketch and layout - It's another awesome one - take a look:
From Cheryl:
"I'll be excited to see what you do with this sketch. Here's the layout I created using this sketch. This is my tribute to the family photo shoot. I'm sure you all have them, the not-quite-right family photos, the rejects that you snapped on your way to finding the perfect family portrait. The cheesy grin, the distracted kids, the wild-eyed look, we captured 'em all during this family photo shoot for our 2007 Christmas card! I loved using the beautiful Roxie papers for this, but I had a hard time choosing which side of the paper to showcase. I can tell this is going to be an on-going dilemna for me!"

We're BACK! I am so excited that Cheryl Even contacted me and offered to help out with the scrapbook sketches for H2H as there are just not enough hours in the day, people! But I'm sure you know that! So today is Cheryl's 1st post and it will be here all month long so I hope to find time to play along - and I hope you do too! Here's a little blurb from Cheryl about her 1st sketch for H2H:
Greetings, fellow CTMH lovers. My name is Cheryl Even, and, as you probably already know, I will be taking over from Mary as the design team sketcher. I’ll be posting an original scrapbook sketch on the 15th of each month for your use and enjoyment. Let’s get right to the sketch! Featuring four uncropped 4" X 6" photos and three 3" x 4" photos, this sketch is great for photos that you already have printed or for times when you can't print out odd size photos. You could also add a Flip-Flap to one or both of the bottom photos on the right hand page if you need to include more photos. I cut my wavy border using the curvy cutter from CM, but you could combine several Kraft Color Ready Borders for a similar look. Hope you get a chance to try out the sketch. Remember, it's a starting place, so feel free to play with it until it fits your needs, and don’t forget to link your finished layout here so we can see your interpretation of the sketch.
Love the layout and sketch!! Thank you Cheryl! Now it's time for you to play along. Create your layout, post it and link it up here. If you want to leave a comment, please do so on the main page under the post titled Scrapbook Sketches are BACK! Thanks and happy creating!

My apologies, scrappers - time has not only gotten away from me but life has kept me from doing any scrapbooking recently. I do plan on resuming sometime in the future but for now, the scrapbooking section of H2H is on hold. I hope to find some time in the near future to take this up again and post on a regular schedule.
March 18, 2011
Hi scrappers! It's time for another sketch. And this one has got some curve-appeal :) But before I get to that, I wanted to point out that I finally added my sample layout to the previous sketch so feel free to scroll down to the March 3rd post and see what I created.
Now for the new sketch and sample - here you go:

EDIT: Sample layout added
Time for another layout sketch and I hope you will play along with me!
I don't have a sample to share quite yet (hope to post that later today) but here's a little break down on the layout elements. Basically the pages are divided into 2 halves, with a different paper at the top and at the bottom. 4 photos line up across the middle and include an embellishment at the corner of each *(you don't have to use hearts by any means!) I labeled a space for a title and journaling but feel free to move these to suit your layout. And, in case you need to add an extra photo, I inserted an extra space on the right side layout.
I will be back soon with my "Seasons" sample -

February 18, 2011
Well, here I thought I was a day late getting this layout posted when in reality, it appears I am a whole week (plus a day) late! Where does the time go?
I did something a little different with this sketch so let me show you and then give you the low down -
Click for a larger image
So here we have a single page layout. I created a double layout by making one page exactly like you see in the sketch and the second page was created by simply rotating the sketch 90 degrees to the left. Here is the layout:
I kept the page very bsic without a lot of paper or embellishment "distractions" because I wanted the photos to really be highlighted. See how the single sketch was rotated to create both pages? Here is a cloe up of each page:
Now it's your turn! Again my apologies for being so far behind this month - hopefully, the next sketch will be posted on time (March 3 - 2 weeks from yesterday). Happy scrapping!

Welcome to another week of scrapbooking! If you wish to leave a comment, please go to the main Heart 2 Heart page and leave a comment under Week 2 Scrapbooking. This page is all one "post" so there is no separate place here to leave a comment for this week only.
Here is the sketch for this week's layout:

Welcome to the 1st post of H2H Scrapbooking. This is not a challenge board like H2H. This is simply a place to come and find some inspiration for your scrapbooking. A new sketch and layout sample will be posted every other Thursday and you can play along at your leisure - there is no time limit.
Before we get to the 1st sketch, it was suggested that, as I introduced all of the new Design Team members of H2H, that I should maybe reintroduce myself. So here's a little bio about me:
Hi, I'm Mary Vogel, your H2H coordinator and hostess. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 30 years and am mom to two wonderful kids - my daughter Aimee just turned 30, is a high school special ed. coordinator, married now for 3 1/2 years and expecting a baby this summer. My son Jacob is 22, wheelchair bound college student who hopes to one day open his own retail store, specializing in all types of gaming. These people are the light of my life along with my 4 year old yellow lab furbaby, Leia.
I have been with CTMH for 10 years and am currently a Junior consultant. I also work part-time for a real estate company and assist my sister with her Tastefully Simple business. To say I am a busy person would be an accurate statement. I love blogging and currently have 3 very active blogs in addition to my design team responsibilities on another challenge blog. I also enjoy reading, cooking and of course, papercrafting. Which brings us to scrapbooking.
I started scrapbooking before stamping and have a number of completed albums but I have found myself getting away from it and creating cards more frequently. So, I thought a scrapbooking board would be a great way to get into a routine. And get back to preserving my family's memories.
You will find that I am not a expert photographer or scrapbooker but I think the joy I find in the hobby will show in my layouts. All of the sketches I post here will be created by me and will not be taken from another source. You are welcome to repost these sketches but would appreciate appropriate credit and a link back to this site.
With that being said, here is the first sketch:

So now it's your turn. I would love to be inspired by your layout based on this sketch. Post your layout and then come back here and link up below. Another sketch will be posted in 2 weeks so I will be back with a new layout then! Have a happy scrapping day!
Welcome to a NEW area of Heart 2 Heart - Scrapbooking! Let me tell you what you can expect to find on this page through the coming year.
Unlike Heart 2 Heart Challenges, H2H Scrapbooking is NOT for challenges! There will be no sponsors and no prizes. There are no time limits to link to your layouts although there will be a new sketch for you to try every other week and a new link box at that time.
H2H Scrapbooking is simply here to give you new ideas to use in your scrapbooking and to inspire you to get your photos into your albums! I created this branch of H2H simply as a way to get my own scrapbooking moving and maybe, caught up! Can anyone else relate?
Every other Thursday, I will post a new 2 page layout sketch. If you would like to play along, create a layout based on the sketch and link up in the area under the sketch. That's all there is to it. By the end of the year, if you play along every other week, you will have at least 24 new double page layouts ready for an album.
Other important things for you to know: Unlike Heart 2 Heart Challenges where you must include products from Close To My Heart, on H2H Scrapbooking your primary focus does NOT have to be CTMH products. I know for my own scrapbooking I like to explore many different products so as this isn't a challenge site, you are welcome to use any supplies you would like. If you use CTMH products, that's wonderful! You may even want to list what products you use when you post your pages so others will know where your supplies are from. Keep in mind that there are still strict guidelines regarding using CTMH products over at the challenge page!!!
The sketches posted here will also NOT be CTMH sketches as there are only a few that can be published without copyright infringement. These will all be original sketches designed by me. You are welcome to repost these sketches to your blog but must give credit to me for the design of the sketch and link back to this site as well.
So starting Thursday, January 13th, I will post the first layout sketch. I hope you will play along here and at Heart 2 Heart Challenges!
Mary
